Achieve Your Goals With Vizualization

In 1992, the movie K2, based on the story of two friends’ ascent of the second-highest mountain on Earth appeared in theaters and my cousin Joby was hooked. His budding interest in mountain climbing took off and before long he set his sights on what many considered to be the impossible – climbing Mt. Everest. After much preparation and training, Joby Ogwyn became the youngest American to ascend Mt. Everest. Although some ridiculed his dream of climbing the highest mountain in the world, Joby knew deep down inside that he was going to make it to the top. He believed that he could set big goals for himself and he would be successful in achieving them. His faith was a big part of his success.

What exactly is faith? Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things that are not seen.  It is the present substance of future attained desire.  It is the conviction and belief that what is hoped for will be realized.

Faith is a state of mind that can be induced, or created, by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind.  The more that you think about, visualize, and prepare for the attainment of your goal, the closer the fulfillment becomes.

Faith is built and increased by focusing on success.  Read about others who have achieved similar goals.  Spend time with others who are moving forward toward achievement.  Put visual reminders of your goal and your success in places where you will see them often.

I have found it very profitable to always have an inspiring book on hand to read.  The account of the pursuit and accomplishment of big dreams is always uplifting.  My next inspirational read is No Shortcuts to the Top.  Reading about how others overcame their challenges is very helpful toward developing and increasing faith in the successful accomplishment of big goals.

Observe the words which have been emphasized in the poem below, by Walter D. Wintle, and you will catch the deep meaning which the poet had in mind.

Thinking
by Walter D. Wintle

If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you
think you dare not, you don’t
If you like to win, but you
think you can’t,
It is almost certain you won’t.

If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost
For out of the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow’s will’s all in the
state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You’ve got to
think high to rise,
You’ve got to
be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man
WHO THINKS HE CAN!
